When I started programming databases in a hospital many years ago, the tools were raw. Using an early version the Basic programming language I built an application from the ground-up. It tracked patients and hospital usage and derived statistics on in-patient and out-patient visits. This custom tool had to manipulate low-level interface elements, record locks, printing and file access through raw programming. Pretty cool, or so I thought at that time.

Since then, computer science has evolved more powerful tools. The right tool can easily model data and create useful applications that allow people to productively collaborate.

My academic background is in computer science. I enjoy solving business issues with software. I've had the good fortune to work in a variety of industries like high tech, biotech, educational publishing, multimedia software, and the internet industry. I try to bring my business experience and creative software skills to bear on my consulting and to the problems faced by businesses like yours.
